Terms of service

Sound Bath Sessions (soundbathsessions.com and our iOS and Android apps) is operated by Technection, LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Sound Bath Sessions”, “we”). By creating an account, booking a session or listing a studio, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to book.

What we do

We help people find and book sound baths and similar sessions hosted by independent studios and practitioners (“studios”). Each session is run by the studio, not by us. The studio is responsible for the session, its venue, its safety and its description.

Buying tickets

When you book, you buy a ticket from the studio; we process the payment on the studio's behalf through Stripe. All sales are final and tickets are non-refundable. A studio may choose to refund you, as described in our Refund policy. Prices are in US dollars and include any add-ons shown at checkout.

Sound and breathwork sessions can be intense. If you are pregnant, have epilepsy, a heart condition, a hearing condition or any other health concern, check with a medical professional before attending. You attend at your own risk.

Memberships

Some studios offer memberships billed monthly or yearly. A membership renews automatically and charges your card at the start of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from My tickets on the website or in the app; it stays active until the end of the period you've paid for and won't renew after that. Payments already made aren't refunded unless the studio chooses to. If a renewal payment fails, you can update your card; the membership can't be used until the payment goes through. A studio may end a membership, in which case it won't renew.

Class packs, gift cards and promo codes

Class packs give a set number of sessions at the studio that sold them and may have an expiry date shown at purchase. Gift cards are a dollar balance for the studio that sold them, can be used across several bookings and don't expire. Packs and gift cards can only be used at that studio, can't be exchanged for cash (except where the law requires) and are non-refundable once any part has been used; a studio may refund one that hasn't been used. Promo codes are set by studios, can have limits and end dates, and can't be combined unless shown at checkout.

Your account

Keep your login details private. Bookings made with your email address appear in your account. You can rename a ticket for a friend until it's checked in.

For studios

Studios must give accurate session details, hold any licenses and insurance their sessions need, and honour the tickets they sell. Payouts are made through Stripe Connect and are subject to Stripe's terms. Sound Bath Sessions charges a 6.9% fee on paid tickets and 2.9% on memberships, plus card processing (2.9% + 30¢). By default guests pay these as a non-refundable service fee at checkout; a studio may choose to absorb them instead, in which case they come out of its payout. Refunds a studio issues cover the ticket price and come from the studio's Stripe balance; fees aren't returned. Studios are responsible for card disputes on their sales: the disputed amount is held until the dispute is resolved, Sound Bath Sessions charges no dispute fee of its own; the studio pays Stripe's dispute fees as Stripe charges them: a dispute fee on every dispute (currently $15, not refunded) and a counter fee when it submits a response (currently $15, refunded if the dispute is won).

Studio content

Studios keep ownership of the photos, descriptions and other content they post. By posting it, a studio gives Sound Bath Sessions permission to display, copy, resize and share it to run and promote the service (for example on the website, in the app, in search results, the booking widget and social posts about listings), and confirms it has the rights to do so. Listings must describe real sessions honestly, without misleading health claims; sound baths are for relaxation and wellbeing, not a substitute for medical care.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no fraudulent bookings or payments, scraping, reselling tickets for profit, interfering with the site or app, harassing studios or guests, or posting content that's unlawful or that you don't have rights to. We may remove listings, cancel bookings involved in fraud, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You can close your account at any time by emailing us.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't guarantee that the service will always be available or error free, or that a studio will run a session as described. To the extent the law allows, Sound Bath Sessions isn't liable for the sessions studios run, for injuries or losses at a session, or for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees we received for the booking involved (or $100 if greater). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Studios agree to cover Sound Bath Sessions against claims, losses and costs arising from their sessions, their content or their breach of these terms.

App stores

If you use our iOS app, these terms are between you and Technection, LLC, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and isn't responsible for any claims relating to it; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. The same applies to Google for our Android app.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use the service means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Denton County, Texas, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
